I'll miss you Summer

Hard to believe that summer is almost over. Students are coming back to campus in about a week and a half and I don't think I'm ready!

I've had quite the relaxing summer and I think it may be hard to adjust. So what have I been doing this summer. Well, it's been hot! I spent about 2 weeks straight in the bedroom in front of the window A/C unit. I really need to consider getting central air next year! I did some vegetable gardening this summer and canning. I made raspberry jam, pickle relish and lots and lots of pickles. Yummy!

Had a lot of fun with family and extended family. We started the summer out with Aunt Purple's wedding in VA and lots of quality time with the Grandparents in Bena. My cousin Nick and his new wife Andrea celebrated their one year anniversary with a reception. And we had a nice Thomas get together up at my cousing Molly and Eric's place. Always fun hanging out with family, and my cousins kids are starting to talk and move around more, it's so much fun getting to watch them grow up!

There have been babies this summer! Cousins, friends, I love it :) They are all so cute and smell so good!

And I've been having tons of fun with friends this summer. Went to a Shakespeare festival play, went camping, got to go to a Twins game at the new stadium, lots of time with the bookgroup gals, going to Renaissance festival this fall. I can't complain, this has been one of the best summers I've had in a long time. Hate to see it end, but fall is my favorite season so I'm sure there are many more good times to come.

My poor blog

I realized today that I have neglected my blog for over a year. How sad. I think this is a pretty clear indication of why I am single! But good news, I am back, with a vengeance...wait, what? Scratch that, I'm just back and ready to write again.

So what's been the haps this last year. Well....
I finished my duties as Interim Director at the library (yay!)
I bought a house (yay!)
I committed to a 3 year lease agreement with Toyota (yay!)
I just purchased a new HDTV and it's HUGE and AWESOME (yay!)
I didn't travel anywhere (boo.)
I stayed single (boo.)
I'm spending time this spring getting bids for new roofs and furnaces (sort of boo like.)

Overall there have been more yays then boos so I'd say life has been pretty good this last year. Life has been so calm, peaceful and simple (in a very good way) that sometimes I sit back and wonder, is this really my life?! I'm enjoying this very much while I can because as we all know there is usually a calm before the storm. Man, I hope I didn't just jinx myself.
