Happy Thanksgiving

I had a restful and fun filled Thanksgiving weekend. I used to be in retail management and always dreaded this weekend. Sure it's fun to be busy but it is exhausting and I hated missing out on the fun that would be going on back home. Last year was the first year in ten years that I didn't have to work Black Friday. This year was a whole new experience. This year I experienced the joys of academic breaks. I had Wed-Mon free from work - What?! Too much free time...a girl could get herself into trouble :)

I was with the family for most of that time and we typically play an abnormally large amount of games. Here is a list of games we played: Okie, Hand and Foot, Rook, Quiddler, Sequence, Settlers, Acquire, Trivial Pursuit, Scrabble, Master Detective Clue, Trivial Pursuit, Ticket to Ride. I think I remembered them all...and of course a few of those we played more than once! Yes we are a little obsessed with game playing...but we have fun and I guess that's all that matters.

So this year I am thankful for my lovely new career at a great institution that has academic breaks with the perfect amount of time to have rest and relaxation.
